Anti-fog

Applications where anti-fog makes the biggest difference

• Fresh vegetables and fruit — salads, herbs, tomatoes; combined with macro-perforation we control the exchange of vapour/gases.
• Bread and confectionery products — less 'condensation' after cooling, better presentation of crusts and glaze.
• Dairy and chilled products — clarity in display + good legibility of dates/codes.
• Ready meals / convenience — PE lidding with anti-fog keeps the 'window' clean even with a temperature difference.

Anti-fog — design and prepress

When preparing the layout for anti-fog structures:

• we reserve no-print zones in the areas of windows and seals,
• we select the backing white under metallisation and delicate tones, to avoid 'dulling',
• we test matt/gloss (also alongside a clear window),
• we take care of the contrast and typography size for LED lighting and low temperatures.

We print in multi-colour flexography; we work on photopolymer plates of our own production, which gives clean solids and predictable tonal transitions.

Anti-fog + perforation — how to combine them so it works

• Macro-perforation gives intensive exchange, but requires safeguarding the product's microbiology.

Process parameters — what we agree before the start

• The target COF for your web path (rolls, tables, tube), to eliminate stalls.
• SIT and hot-tack of the seal layer (usually anti-fog CPP), so that the seal grips at a lower temperature and holds under fast withdrawal.
• Anti-fog activation: the effect depends on temperature and humidity
• Thicknesses/gauges and tolerances — a stable wind, clean edges, shorter start-ups.

Summary — anti-fog in CPP/BOPP/PE films.

If you want the product to stay visible in the chill while the pack works stably on your line, choose a structure with anti-fog matched to the process. We will design the laminate (including anti-fog CPP as the sealant), set the COF, SIT and hot-tack, prepare the multi-colour print and run a chilled pilot.

Frequently asked questions

Anti-fog is a solution used in packaging that reduces the condensation of water vapour on the inner side of the film. Thanks to this the product stays clearly visible and the pack keeps an attractive appearance.

Anti-fog is most often used in packaging for fresh food, such as fruit, vegetables, salads, bread and chilled products. It is particularly useful where good product display matters.

Anti-fog film reduces the formation of droplets of water vapour on the surface of the pack. Instead, the moisture spreads in a less visible way, which improves the clarity of the film and the presentation of the product.

Using anti-fog improves product visibility, increases the aesthetics of the pack and supports an attractive presentation on the shop shelf. It can also have a positive effect on the consumer's perception of the product's quality.

Yes, anti-fog solutions can be used in various types of film packaging, depending on the type of product, the storage conditions and the technological requirements. The right solution should be matched to the specific application.
