Film macro-perforation — holes in register, 6 and 8 mm

We produce film macro-perforation with holes exactly where they belong — in register, synchronised with the print. Holes of 6 and 8 mm, round and shaped, on OPP and PE. The packaging breathes, and the product stays fresh longer.

What macro-perforation is and what it offers

Macro-perforation means precise holes made in finished film that let the packaging "breathe". Controlled air exchange and the removal of excess moisture extend the product's freshness and reduce condensation. We make the holes in 6 and 8 mm sizes, round or shaped, on OPP and PE films — selecting the size, spacing and pattern to suit the specific product and packing method.

Perforation in register — our advantage

The biggest difference from ordinary perforation: we do it in register. A photocell reads the print marks and triggers the perforation exactly at the set point — in a window, outside the graphics, in the seal zone, or wherever the packaging design requires. The holes do not land at random on a logo or text; instead they sit repeatably in relation to the print in every batch. That is a real advantage on the shelf and on your packaging line.

Parameters and performance

We perforate a web up to 1600 mm wide at speeds of up to 250 m/min for flexible films and up to 180 m/min for rigid ones, making up to 80 holes per second. We can create any pattern — a line, a zigzag or a custom layout for the project. Industry 4.0 control as standard lets us set each head individually (position, pressure, registration), store the job in memory and resume it 1:1 on a repeat run, and run remote diagnostics. A dual confetti extraction system keeps the process clean and the pace high.

Where macro-perforation works best

Macro-perforation works best wherever a product needs to breathe. Fresh fruit and vegetables — grapes, salads and other sensitive produce — keep their firmness and appearance longer in perforated film. It also proves itself in packaging that requires ventilation, in agricultural bags and banana bags, and with bread. We match the hole size and layout to the product's requirements and the conditions of the cold chain.

Ask us about macro-perforation

Tell us what you pack and how — send us the product type, the film, the format and the packing method. We will choose the hole size (6 or 8 mm), the pattern and the spacing, and synchronise the perforation with your print, in register. We combine macro-perforation with flexographic printing and converting, so you receive finished packaging from a single source.
